SOPHIE BLIX SOprano 

Based in Stockholm, Sweden, soprano Sophie Blix holds bachelor's degrees in Musicology and Classical Vocal Performance. A light lyric soprano, she is particularly interested in Mozart, Baroque repertoire, bel canto, sacred and French repertoire, and contemporary music.

Her performance experience includes a solo role in a newly composed opera at the Midnight Festival in Piteå Concert Hall, excerpts from Rameau's Castor et Pollux performed at the Drottningholm Royal Court Theatre, as well as regular concert performances with Hagakapellet, a chamber ensemble where she shares artistic responsibilities including rehearsal direction and repertoire planning. 

In addition to her classical training, she has experience in acting and performing as a singer-songwriter. She also completed B-level studies in French at the Sorbonne.

Sophie began her musical journey as a saxophonist and recorder player, inspired by her interest in composition and improvised music. Her musical background also includes experience in advanced vocal ensembles and early music, both as a singer and recorder player, giving her a strong foundation in ensemble musicianship alongside her work as a soloist.

She also has a interest in improvised movement and dance and is currently exploring the interplay between movement and instrumental music in collaboration with Hagakapellet. She has performed improvised dance during the ensemble's concerts before live audiences.
